As we all know that today’s learners are different than that of 10 or 20 years ago, in the sense that they have access to new forms of technology. And because we are currently living in what is termed ‘the information age’, and the students are spending most of their time home online. The classrooms should also have some sorts of technology, thus EDUC560 course was created to quip teacher with the major technologies that can be incorporated to make our classrooms more enjoyable and up-to-date. In this course I learned how to use "Poll Everywhere" "Google Forms" "Google Drive" "Web Quest" and Google Blog".
Using Poll everywhere, I can ask my students some questions where they can answer at the moment using mobile phones or web browsers while I can see students' response live on the web. Google forms permits me to create assessments and surveys and send them to the students to fill them, or I can teach the students how to work on it so that they can send it to their classmates and see their results. Google Drive serve as a tool to send large files to my students, colleagues and friends directly from my Gmail account, where I access my files remotely, and thus save my files from being destroyed by viruses through the process of transmitting them by a USB. We also learned how to design Web Quests which are websites that direct students in detailed way how to search via internet safely, and recently we learned how to make a personal blog as I made this! This course is interesting and keeps us up-to-date with new technologies! All thanks go to the instructor Ms. Amal Farhat for providing us with such beneficial course!
